This paper consists in introducing the translation of 50 dedicatory Hellenistic epigrams. The epigram was widely cultivated in Antiquity, especially during the Hellenistic period, the splendor of this form. The Greek Anthology collects more than four thousand of these poems, gathering dedicatory compositions in Book 6 (358 poems), from which around half once was in the well known Meleager of Gadara’s anthology, from 90 b.C. These poems are said to be dedicatory or votive since they arrange inscriptions offered to the gods, either for beseech or acknowledgement, sometimes truly accompanied by a specific good or tool, but sometimes being nothing more than a poetical vote. The translations were accomplished by poetical criteria. An introduction on the poems and poets as well as explanatory notes to each and every epigram is also present.
