Vol. 6 No. 11 (2020): Transatlantic dialogues: relations and dynamics between Portugal, Africa and America (17th to 19th centuries)
With a theme that has long been explored by great names in historiography, the present dossier intends to gather new theoretical and methodological contributions about the relationships that developed and dynamized in and between the Atlantic shores of those spaces that were once part of the Portuguese Empire. In this sense, the dossier seeks to reflect on the flows and refluxes - in the words of Pierre Verger - that contribute to the perception of the dynamics of the political-administrative apparatus, of the economies, of the daily lives, of the relations between men and of the cultural manifestations conceived by the exchanges between Portugal, Africa and America between the 17th and 19th centuries.
