ABET, Vol. 16, Regular Issue (2026): Advances in Tourism Studies & Special Section on "Educational Tourism: different perspectives" (Continuation of the 2025 Dossier)
Editorial Note: Workflow normalization and delayed publication of the “Pedagogical Tourism” dossier
The Brazilian Annals of Tourism Studies (ABET) hereby inform readers, authors, and indexing services that, due to operational disruptions in the editorial workflow between late 2025 and early 2026 (particularly related to the interruption of previously contracted editorial services) the journal experienced delays in the evaluation, production, and publication of submitted manuscripts.
As a consequence, a subset of articles approved for the thematic dossier “Pedagogical Tourism”, originally scheduled for publication in 2025, has been published in the 2026 editorial cycle.
In accordance with international best practices in editorial transparency and research integrity, as recommended by the COPE, the DOAJ, and metadata standards maintained by Crossref, the journal has implemented the following measures:
- Publication of articles with updated metadata (year, volume, and issue corresponding to 2026) to ensure bibliographic consistency and proper indexing;
- Explicit preservation of thematic and editorial linkage to the “Pedagogical Tourism” dossier (2025) through formal indication in both the articles and the issue structure;
- Inclusion of explanatory notes in the affected articles, clarifying the delayed publication;
- Organization of a dedicated thematic section within the current issue, grouping articles associated with the original dossier.
These measures are intended to ensure:
- the integrity of the scholarly record,
- editorial transparency,
- and the thematic continuity of academic contributions.
The editorial board reaffirms its commitment to the full normalization of the journal’s editorial workflow and to strict adherence to international standards of quality, ethics, and traceability in scholarly publishing.
