This article addresses teacher training during the COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic, promoting critical reflections on teacher training, knowledge, and practices, as well as on remote teaching. The qualitative methodology was based on interviews conducted with eight Visual Arts educators using digital technologies, in which reports of teaching experiences in basic education were collected from 2020 to 2022, covering different regions of Brazil. The aim was to highlight how teaching experiences and practices are shaped as formative elements of a familial, personal, and professional nature, directly influencing the ability to face the challenges and uncertainties brought about by the health crisis. It was found that the experiences of beginner teachers differ significantly from those of professionals with extensive experience, especially regarding technological difficulties, such as limited internet access and poor phone signal, as well as reflections on the pedagogical actions developed during the pandemic period. It is concluded that technologies impacted teacher training during remote teaching, highlighting the need for continuing education for their use in education and the advancement of distance learning in Brazil.
