This paper aims to investigate the trajectories of teachers in Specialized Educational Service (SES), highlighting their motivations, influences and conceptions that constitute their ways of being and becoming teachers. This study, which has a qualitative approach, emphasizes part of the results of a research-training carried out in virtual format, via Google Meet, with SES teachers that work in the Municipal Education Network in Caucaia, Ceará. The data was analyzed through Discursive Textual Analysis. As a result, it is concluded that there are several situations, experiences and motivations present in the trajectories of SES teachers, translated into the choice of the profession, the influence of teacher training and the conceptions and feelings produced in relation to their professional performance. Furthermore, the missionary, welfare and uncritical view over SES still is pressing in the imagination of the teachers in this service and must be surpassed in favor of a more professional, conscious and emancipated approach.
