Populational aging is inevitable in a scenario where the birth rate decreases, and life expectancy arises. This phenomenon emerges in many social contexts, including at work, and ageism distinguishes itself in the context of population aging. For this reason, the question concerning this paper is: Does academic productivism motivate aging in the teaching career? This investigation aims to identify elements contributing to ageism in the Federal University of Piauí teaching career. Methodologically, with the Atlas Ti software, content analysis was carried out on interviews with professors at the Institution. It was identified that there is a predominance of negative ageism compared to positive ageism and that academic productivism contributes to ageism but also leads to other types of non-intergenerational conflicts.
