Abstract

The main objective of this study is to present a balance of the academic production about the continuing education of teachers in the context of digital technologies, which was carried out in the Catalog of Theses and Dissertations of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), with a focus on temporal period from 2017 to 2021. In methodological terms, a bibliographical survey was carried out with the analysis of 44 academic productions (dissertations and theses). The study allowed issuing considerations on the distribution of productions by year, regions and states of the federation, as well as by universities and the themes present in academic productions. In addition to these aspects, methodological approaches, methods and techniques for producing data outlined in the surveys were analyzed. As considerations, among others, it should be noted that there is a concentration of studies in the Southeast Region of Brazil, more specifically in the State of São Paulo. Public universities are the institutions that present the largest number of publications and the main themes relate the continuing education of teachers and digital technologies with pedagogical practice in the classroom. In the methodological dimension, the qualitative approach is referenced in almost all investigations, the case study is the most emphasized research method and the questionnaire and the interview are the data production techniques that predominate in academic productions.
