BETWEEN THE PRIVILEGE HIDING PLACE AND THE RACIAL SHIELDING OF WHITE AND BLACK PEOPLE

The current article analyzes life narratives related to the path of white and black individuals in prestigious careers within several periods and the country’s institutions. The discussion is about the racism intensification and the whiteness in the constitutive processes of black and white identities regarding their path in social prestigious careers. The study is constituted as a mechanism of broader comprehension of the racism and whiteness dimensions in a way that such issues are confronted in their real faces, considering education as a political-pedagogical-scientific instrument of transformation of racial structures that produce inequalities and racial privileges. The investigation is founded on qualitative research that has an ethnos sociological perspective and their life narratives as a guiding principle of data collection. It stands out the importance of an antiracist education as a formation process in the combat of racialized mentalities and practices, in micro and macro levels. The study indicates the relevance of continuum with the affirmative actions for the black population and the active and critical participation of the white population when they are acknowledged as privileged in the fight against racism.
