MAIN TRENDS IN STUDIES AND RESEARCH THAT DISCUSS SCIENTIFIC LITERACY IN HIGHER EDUCATION

Authors

Abstract

In order to identify the way in which Scientific Literacy (CL) is used and researched in higher education, this qualitative bibliographic research was carried out in peer-reviewed journals, from the Coordination of Superior Level Staff Improvement (CAPES) journal portal, in addition to postgraduate monographs from the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD) until the year 2019. The results were divided into the following axes of analysis: Target audience, Strategies, and Use of CL. It was concluded that all researchers on the subject see the CL as a fundamental objective of education, especially the so-called "Scientific Education". On the other hand, there is no consensus about which practices lead to CL, with little use of the theoretical support already established in the area.
