ETHNOKNOWLEDGE IN THE CURRICULUM

This is a study on Ethnoknowledge in the Curriculum: The Canela Ramkokamekrá Art – Ancestral Memories and Knowledge, focusing on basketry, body painting and adornments and adornments. This research is part of a broader investigation to obtain the title of Doctor in Teaching at the University of Vale do Taquari – UNIVATES, and addresses some of the manifestations of Canela art as a source of ancestral memories, knowledge, and resistance. It is a qualitative, field study, with the application of interviews and observation in loco at the EI General Bandeira de Melo, located in Aldeia Escalvado, in the municipality of Fernando Falcão in the central region of Maranhão. The research subjects are academic professors of intercultural degrees, the chief of that village and a member of Prockham (Council of Elders). The objective of this article is to promote reflections on the need to insert ethnoknowledge and, specifically, on the Canela Ramkokamekrá art (basketry, body painting and ornaments and ornaments) in the curriculum of the community school for the effectiveness of differentiated teaching from the perspective of the intercultural dialogue.
