SCIENTIFIC PAPER DIDATIC SEQUENCE IN WHATSAPP
CONTRIBUTIONS TO ACADEMIC LITERACY

Digital tools are increasingly part of teaching and learning activities and it is necessary to investigate them to understand the potential they can have for students’ and even teachers’development. Considering the scarcity of time to be able to work all the contents necessary for university students to appropriate the textual genres related to academic literacy, the use of some digital tools can be a very promising alternative. In order to contribute to a reflection on this theme, this study has the aim to present part of the results of a scientific initiation research on the application implementation of a didactic sequence about scientific paper through the WhatsApp digital tool. For this, based on the discussions on academic literacy and textual genres, a didactic sequence of scientific paper was developed and implemented to students of a private university in the interior of São Paulo. The results indicate that students have advanced in their knowledge about the scientific paper genre, and that WhatsApp, considering its characteristics, can contribute to work with textual genres aiming at the mastering of academic literacy in the university.
