This article aims to analyze the National Program of Civic-Military Schools (PECIM), approved by Decree n. 9665/19, and, more specifically, the Regulation Booklet of the Civic-Military School (ECIM), bringing elements that contribute to the understanding of how this government policy is configured, which intends to expand military education in Brazil, and what are the consequences of this Decree for the Brazilian educational field. especially with regard to the structure of ECIMs. From the analysis that using legal documents, we learn that PECIM is based on an education model that, inspired by the military discipline, induces the development of homogenizing, hierarchical, excluding training processes, and necessarily based on meritocracy and the concept of an obedient subject. This model of education, therefore, opposes the perspective of comprehensive training assumed in legal documents and also by education workers committed to human emancipation, with the development of a critical-humanized pedagogy and a fairer society.
