Teacher education requires appropriation of conceptions about education and educational making. This complex activity requires constant critical reflection on social reality and educational practice. In the context, Higher Education, and teaching, as well as in Basic Education, was abruptly modified with one of the preventive measures invested to curb the spread of Covid-19. The educational institutions resized their pedagogical actions, inserting remote teaching. From this panorama, we seek to discuss and understand the challenges of teaching in higher education for teacher education in the context of remote education, circumstantial by the Covid-19 pandemic and to investigate the perceptions of undergraduate students about teaching in the remote modality. The methodology was qualitative, and the instrument used to produce empirical data is in semi-structured interviews, with undergraduate students at a public university. The main results show impacts on training; interaction to conduct the training process; some progress in the use of TDICs; lack of adequate infrastructure; impossibility of understanding the organization of the school in locus; education as a collective good. We conclude that technology is relevant to the development of society and that remote teaching was the appropriate attitude for the pandemic moment so that education did not stop; there is one to transform the school and the university, however this does not suppress the fundamental principles that constitute it.
