GINÁSTICA PARA TODOS (GPT) NO CONTEXTO ESCOLAR

We elaborated a state of the art on Gymnastics for All (GFA) in the school context from research in national periodicals on Physical Education (PE) and related areas, between 1979 and 2020. It is a quantitative and qualitative research with an inventory and bibliographic character. Twenty-one periodicals were part of the sample. Overall, we found 69 articles on GFA in 16 of these journals, 34 focusing on the non-school context, 23 on the school context, and 12 on both contexts. Studies on the school context focus on both students and teachers, highlighting how different manifestations of GFA are in the curriculum, pedagogy, research, extension, university, professional and non-school education. There is a predominance of the qualitative research approach, and most studies are based on empirical data analysis and on critical theoretical bases. GFA is praised as a reduced facility for teaching gymnastics and, consequently, PE at school.
