This article presents results of a qualitative investigation about the schooling of children with Congenital Zika Virus Syndrome (CZVS). The qualitative research was carried out during a continuing education program for education professionals in a municipal education system in Baixada Fluminense/RJ. As data collection procedures, we applied questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. Besides that, we have used records which have been performed by participants on a digital platform used during the program, just as portfolios containing the formative trajectory of each one of the approximately 50 participants. The results, analyzed in the light of the historical-cultural perspective, showed, among other aspects, the importance of the program for the participants qualification and the collaborative work between common class teachers and the specialized supports offered in the education system for students with SCZV. They also show the need for intersectoral actions to meet the educational, social and health demands of children with SCZV for their integral development.
