Abstract

The article deals with an investigation on continuing education for Special Education teachers to work with students with intellectual disabilities using the Individualized Educational Plan (PEI) strategy. The objective was to analyze the training proposal to work with a student with intellectual disabilities. Having as specific objectives: a) to analyze the development of the teacher; and b) investigate the potential of individualized work. The approach was qualitative through a case study based on the assumptions of action research. It concludes the importance of training processes in the concept of self-training and the relevance of personalized pedagogical processes for students with intellectual disabilities.
