Abstract

In the context of cyberculture, in which digital information and communication technologies present themselves as “saviors” or “villains” in Education, a balanced vision is needed around their approach in educational settings and digital games can contribute to this. sense. The study that gave rise to this article aimed to investigate whether Facebook games are configured as hybrid formative environments in the Biology teaching and learning process. The study involved two biology teachers and semi-structured interviews were used for data collection. The collected data were analyzed using the content analysis technique. The main findings were that there are games that are configured as hybrid formative environments under the pedagogical mediation of teachers.
