Is it possible to cross the Atlantic? A reading of Pino Daniele in Brazil

This article is a study of Nelson Motta’s recreations of two songs by Neapolitan singer Pino Daniele (“Quanno chiove”, 1980; “E po’ che fà”, 1982). Recognizing that both became undisputed successes of Brazilian popular music, it is intended to analyze some thematic differences in the passage from one continent to another, having as an interest the love perspectives, from the modification of the text and the maintenance of the melody.
