This text will investigate how the matter of androgyny in Virginia Woolf and Hélène Cixous’s écriture féminine converge when it comes to the vocality and the sounds that penetrate the poetic text. It shall recur to philosopher Adriana Cavarero’s notion of maternal chora to relate the vocalic pleasure to the maternal figure, besides defending that this maternal trace remains in the adult unconscious as a set of untamed sounds. Thus, the poetic text can entail an androgynous subject and destabilize the rules of patriarchal discourse.
