Abstract

In this study, using Derrida’s notions of différance and trace, we show, in Virginia Woolf’s short story, “The Mark on the WaIl", how the use of metaphorical comparisons and associations of ideas, revealing the representation of subjectivity, establishes the instability of meaning in the narrative.
