THE NEW PROFESSIONAL IN THE BANI WORLD POST PANDEMIC

Abstract

In a world of constant changes, conceptualized as BANI (Brittle, Anxious, Nonlinear, and Incomprehensible), we were inspired to write this article aiming to analyze the perspectives and implications of this scenario for contemporary professionals. The BANI world challenges traditional ways of thinking and acting, demanding continuous adaptation and the development of new skills. To achieve this, we conducted a systematic qualitative review of fully published articles from the first semester of 2017 to the first semester of 2022. Additionally, we employed hermeneutic analysis to deepen our understanding of the findings. The results highlight the need to develop three key competencies in the BANI context: (1) socio-emotional skills, (2) openness to new experiences, and (3) continuous learning. Furthermore, we identified a significant gap in scientific publications addressing the BANI framework, with the topic more commonly discussed in non-academic sources such as websites and blogs. This reveals a promising field for future research.
