EQUIDADE ESCOLAR DAS INSTITUIÇÕES FEDERAIS DE EDUCAÇÃO PROFISSIONAL

The objective of this work is to analyze the school equity of federal schools of vocational education vis-à-vis other Brazilian high schools in the SAEB assessment. As a methodological approach, data are used from assessments in the subjects of Mathematics and Portuguese and contextual questionnaires from the SAEB 2017 edition. The data were applied to multilevel models and multivariate cross-level interactions. The results showed that the federal schools of vocational education were the least equitable, compared to the other schools, despite they having the best effectiveness indicators. In this context, the work discusses the foundation of an index that measures the quality of education in Brazilian schools, in addition to the current available indicators, and that considers not only the effectiveness factors, but, above all, the indicators of equity and school context.
