This paper aims to give visibility to the work of the teacher Carmem Izabel Carlos Silva, in Paraíba, from 1968 to 1971. In these 3 years, the teacher stood out for having been the first paranner of the normalist class of Campina Grande-PB and for having occupied the position of Director of the Department of Medium Education in Paraíba. The sources used were the newspapers Diário da Borborema (1968-1971) and Diário de Pernambuco (1968-1971). The analysis was based on Sirinelli and his theory of network of sociabilities, a perspective under which we investigated the socioprofessional path of the mentioned teacher. We will also make use of Chartier's studies, who recognizes the discourses in the printed materials as social representation, and Foucault's, considering the identification of the power and discourse structures conveyed among the micro-relationships. The performance of Carmem Izabel Carlos Silva is understood as an act of power, which, although marked by the mishaps of a male-dominated society, configured her way of acting and interposing her discourse.
