EDUCATION OF ETHNIC-RACIAL RELATIONS IN THE DISSERTATIONS OF PROFHISTÓRIA - SANTA CATARINA (BRAZIL)

This article starts from the following question: what are the contributions of the dissertations and propositional dimensions of the Professional Master's Degree in History Teaching (PROFHISTÓRIA) defended in Santa Catarina between 2016 and 2021 for Education for Ethnic-Racial Relations and the teaching of History and Culture Afro-Brazilian and African? The purpose of this article is to map ProfHistória's dissertations defended in Santa Catarina between 2016 and 2021, which work with education for Ethnic-Racial Relations and the teaching of Afro-Brazilian and African History and Culture. The methodology is based on a state of knowledge that intends to carry out reflection and synthesis on the scientific production of a given area, in a given period of time (MOROSINI, FERNANDES, 2014). The dissertations that work with the aforementioned theme were collected on the eduCAPES portal. The descriptors “Teaching Afro-Brazilian and African History and Culture” were used for the research; “Law 10.639/03”; “Ethnic-Racial Relations”; “Anti-racist education” and “Black Movement”. The results indicate that from a total of 40 dissertations defended in the PROFHISTÓRIA da UFSC, in the period from 2016 to 2021, five address the researched topic, representing 12.5%. In PROFHISTÓRIA da UDESC, of the 43 dissertations defended in the same period, seven address this theme, representing 16.28%. Although quantitatively it seems like a small number of dissertations, they bring relevant contributions to the visibility of the theme, contributing to the continuing education of teachers and providing the dissemination and use of didactic materials in History classes.
