This article aims to present an analysis of the main challenges faced in the process of implementing the Life Project teaching, as a curricular component of Elementary School, in order to provide subsidies for educational managers facing this demand. A case study was carried out with teachers who work in Elementary School, in a private school in the Federal District, which is confessional and philanthropic in nature. The case study was carried out through qualitative research, using document analysis and semi-structured interviews. The research revealed a gradual increase in the relevance of the teaching of Life Project in Brazilian educational legislation, from the LDB (1996) to the BNCC (2018) and the curricular guidelines of the Federal District for Elementary Education (2018). In this sense, it was found that the aforementioned educational institution developed curricular guidelines that emphasized the Life Project for Elementary School, going beyond what was recommended by the legal parameters. Finally, the research revealed that the most significant challenges for implementing the life project in Elementary School are: the teaching profile, interdisciplinarity, family adherence and the conditions for counseling.
