Euclides da Cunha: literatura e história

Resumen

This paper intends to examine the concepts of historical and fictional discourses as narrative constructions. Based upon Euclides da Cunha’s proposals concerning a specific aesthetics for Brazilian historical novel, the present study is developed within the perspective of recent theories of language and theories of narrative.
