From map to myth: The geography of Middle-earth
ABSTRACT: This paper traces space elements in The Lord of the Rings (1954) thinking of the topophilia as developed by Tolkien. In doing that we analyze the way the narrative elements are used in order to identify the pictorial composition in the work. Therefore, one can see how the articulation of the narrator makes it possible for the reader to visualize Middle-earth.
Keywords: Tolkien. Space. The Lord of the Rings. Image. Pictorial composition.
