Abstract

The essay addresses stimulating environments concerning literary creation. It shows how certain cities, at certain historical moments, such as Paris in the 1920s and Barcelona at the turn of the 1960s/70s, attracted writers by offering favorable conditions for the promotion and propagation of literary works. It analyzes the case of Porto Alegre, which, as the largest Creative Writing hub in Brazil, houses a diverse community of writers.

Doutor em Teoria da Literatura (2017) e Escrita Criativa (2020), professor adjunto na Escola de Humanidades da PUC-RS, Porto Alegre. Autor dos livros de contos O amor é um lugar estranho (2012) e O lado que não era visível para quem estava na estrada (2020), entre outros. Coorganizou Como tudo começou: a história e 35 histórias, dos 35 anos da Oficina de Criação Literária da PUC-RS (2020).
