This paper presents a reading of concrete poetry – from the interpretation of its main programmatic postulates and the analytical approach to the concrete poem, as elaborated in its orthodox phase – aiming at establishing how the concrete poem, in spite of its idealizers’ disapproval, constitutes a form of representation of reality, based on what is here denominated “technicist illusion”, which would lead to prove a transit to a new, late modern phase of poetic work.
