Abstract

The reading of Niketche: a history of polygamy, by Paulina Chiziane arouses the female voices that were muffled. With the help of Freud's theory, the anguish of Rami, the main character, is discussed and her uneasiness is revealed when she is aware of the subalternity conditioned to the female being. It is observed how the anguish and the individual questions of the protagonist impel her to leave the passivity and start acting to transform the realities of the women with whom she relates.

Fernanda Oliveira da Silva, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro

Possui graduação em Letras - Língua Portuguesa e Literatura - ABEU Centro Universitário (2016). Especialização em Literaturas Portuguesa e Africanas pela UFRJ (2018). Atualmente é mestranda em Literaturas Africanas pela UFRJ e professora do Centro Educacional Novo Amanhecer. Integrante do Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisas Escritas do Corpo Feminino nas Literaturas de Língua Portuguesa (UFRJ/UNILAB).

Maria Teresa Salgado Salgado, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro

Possui graduação em Letras (Inglês), pela UFRJ (1982); mestrado em Literatura Brasileira, pela UFRJ (1988); doutorado em Literaturas Africanas, pela PUC Rio de Janeiro (1997) e desenvolveu pesquisa de pós-doutorado, em Literaturas de língua portuguesa, em Paris IV (Sorbonne), com ênfase na escrita feminina (2016). Atualmente, é professora-associada de Literaturas Africanas na UFRJ, universidade onde trabalha desde 2006.
