Apreço e imitação no diálogo do gentio convertido

Abstract

The article analyzes a manuscript of the XVIII century, written as a dialog. The text treats of a Catholic religious association composed by Africans slaves and linings came from Costa da Mina to Rio de Janeiro. Considering some stylistic aspects of the dialogue, the article shows as the text does use of those resources to reinforce the ethnic identity and the organization interns of the group.
