ENTRELAÇAMENTOS ENTRE A CULTURA DA INFÂNCIA E A CULTURA POPULAR SOB OS HOLOFOTES DOS MIÚDOS CIRCOS

Abstract

This article aims to present a comparative exercise carried out while writing my doctoral thesis, entitled "The Tiny Circuses – Possible Encounters between Children’s Culture and the School Culture", in which I sought to establish the similarity between children’s culture and the culture of laughter with regard to the power that both have to desecrate the dominant, hegemonic culture due to their inherent natality potency (as discussed by Hannah Arendt). I base my analyses on a concept of childhood drawn from Walter Benjamin and Manoel de Barros, and on Mikhail Bakhtin’s reflections on the relationship between popular cultures and dominant established knowledge.
