Abstract

This essay’s objective is to bring the Freirean premise that every educational act is a political act to the center of the debate produced in the interface between Science Education and Critical Curriculum Theories. This work has as interlocutors science educators and their trainers, who, indignant with the brutal processes of dispossession of rights that affects most of the world population, turn their professional praxis into militant action against dehumanization. Along this path, the works of Paulo Freire, authors of the critical theory of curriculum and grafts on the testimonies of Science and Biology teachers who work in Youth and Adult Education are evoked. Based on critical reflection on curriculum, this essay calls for scientific education to be radically involved on the transformation of the world.
