This article analyzes the actions of the extension project entitled "Flowers Plant the Observatory of Race and Gender in Minas Gerais and All Harvest Equality", developed from teaching, research and extension activities in 2017 and 2018 at the Federal University of the Region Southeast. The aforementioned project and this article are based on the concept of dialogue, proposed by Paulo Freire, to reflect on the possibilities of combining communication, education, feminism and lesbianism. It is a perspective in which Education and Communication are presented as interface areas, with the objective of developing liberating practices and strengthening emancipatory theories. Specifically, this text reflects on the representation of certain groups and, in particular, lesbian, bisexual and transsexual women in educational and media spaces. The aim is, therefore, to make considerations that contribute to the understanding of the relevance of dialogues that encourage the strengthening of Communication for democratic citizenship and Education for the promotion of liberating practices.
