Les Éthiopiques d’Héliodore et la Passion du Christ: une analyse intertextuelle

Cet article vise à explorer les relations du roman grec les Éthiopiques avec les idéaux chrétiens, largement diffusés par l'Empire romain à la fin du IVe siècle de notre ère. L'ouvrage présente une approche de lecture novatrice qui met côte à côte la scène d'ouverture et les récits des Évangiles, plus précisément la Passion de Christ. La relation intertextuelle repose sur l'aspect dramatique des œuvres comparées et sur quatre éléments de connexions thématiques: le lever du soleil, l’aporie, l’épiphanie et la figure de la pierre. La proposition privilégie une interprétation allégorique, se rapprochant ainsi de la méthode herméneutique contemporaine de l'auteur. L'analyse a l'intention de reprendre le débat de la critique littéraire sur l'œuvre, ouvrant ainsi une nouvelle possibilité de lecture pour le roman.
