This work aims to describe the activity of creating classical
amphorae using papier-mâché, carried out in 2024 as part of the "Contos de
Mitologia" project at the Letters College of the Federal University of Juiz de
Fora, with students from the 5th and 6th grades of elementary school at Escola
Municipal Presidente Tancredo Neves. The basis was the myths taught
throughout the first academic semester of the year, all taken from the work
“Metamorphoses”, by the poet Ovid. The main objective of the activity was to
allow the artistic expression of the students reconciled with the learning of
elements of Classical Culture and Portuguese language, especially about the
importance of the use of amphorae in Antiquity. At the end, an exhibition was
held at the College itself during the “Classical studies week”.
