Esta é a tradução do discurso Contra os Sofistas (390 a.C.) do ateniense Isócrates (436 - 338 a.C.), segundo a edição de Engelbert Drerup (Isocratis. Opera Omnia. Hildesheim & Leipzig: Georg Olms Verlag, 1906). Ela é precedida por um breve comentário introdutório a respeito do discurso, bem como de notas sobre a tradução. Ademais, também traduzo, previamente ao Contra os Sofistas, o "argumento de um gramático anônimo" a respeito do discurso, presente na edição de Mathieu & Brémond (Isocrate: Discours. Paris: Les Belles Lettres, 1929).
