A proposal for a literary and literal translation of Martial’s I.109 epigram
Keywords:
Martial, Literary Translation, Literal Translation, translational recreationAbstract
Born from a simple proposal, this work attempts to conciliate in one translation two poles: literariness and literalness, using Martial’s epigram I.109. It was taken into account during the act of translation both the figures and forms that constitute the Latin poem, its musicality, which we tried to recreate in Portuguese.
