The theory of forms of government in Ancient Times

O objetivo deste artigo é traçar um breve histórico da teoria das formas de governo durante a Antiguidade, presente na obra de historiadores como Heródoto e Políbio, e filósofos como Platão, Aristóteles e Marco Túlio Cícero. A principal conclusão é que Heródoto, com o debate persa, deu início a uma importantíssima discussão pertinente à Teoria Política e à Filosofia Política – e que esses três capítulos da obra herodotiana serviram como inspiração para as tipologias clássicas das constituições.
