Abstract

This article examines the links between Translation Studies and the new discipline of Adaptation Studies, which has grown enormously in recent years, especially at universities in the Anglo-Saxon world. As a theoretical basis, the distinctions made by Julie Sanders in Adaptation and Appropriation (SANDERS, 2006) are used. It follows that there should be greater contact between the areas and, more particularly, that Translation Studies have much to offer to Adaptation Studies.
