This study verified the relationship between social skills and social anxiety indicators in an evaluation with 187 students, aged between 10 and 13 years, and their teachers. From the application of the Social Skills Rating System and the Social Phobia Inventory, a negative correlation was found between social anxiety and empathy, cooperation and affectivity skills. The comparison between groups with and without social anxiety also showed differences in responsibility. The intervention needs of students with social anxiety, based on their deficits and behavioral resources, were discussed.
