From the educational perspective of visual culture, the text examines the relationships between aesthetic-political artistic experiences and teacher training, starting from the production of Latin American artists. We analyzed the aesthetic-political impacts on initial teacher training, based on an experience developed together with a collective exhibition promoted by the Referências Cruzadas group. The focus of the work lies in highlighting the need to create materials with greater circulation with contemporary Latin American artistic references in the context of basic education, as well as in teacher training, aiming to expand the repertoire in the field of visual arts. Our debate is about what is produced from the dialogue between contemporary artistic productions, aesthetic-political experience and pedagogy. By proposing pedagogical experiences with/from artistic productions, with the educational perspective of visual culture, we believe in the possibility of an attentive and sensitive look at the complexity that intervenes in social and cultural dimensions, especially the representation policies that challenge our relationships with images of art and visual culture.
