Abstract

Introduction: The effectiveness of endodontic therapy is intrinsically linked to the quality of adhesion between endodontic cements and root dentin. The search for materials offering optimized adhesion is essential to ensure long-lasting and successful outcomes. Objective: To comparatively analyze the adhesion strength of CIMMO HP® bioceramic cement in relation to Bio-C Sealer and Sealer Plus BC cements, using the push-out method. Materials and Methods: Thirty roots of maxillary central incisors were used, sectioned into 60 slices of 2 mm thickness. Each slice received a 1.2 mm diameter hole, then CIMMO HP®, Bio-C Sealer, and Sealer Plus BC cements were manipulated and applied to the holes following the manufacturers' instructions. Specimens were incubated at 37°C for 3 days with controlled humidity and subjected to the push-out test at a speed of 1 mm/min on the Semi Universal Testing Machine. Results: Statistical analysis included ANOVA and Tukey's post-test. The results revealed that Sealer Plus BC cement showed better outcomes compared to Bio-C Sealer and CIMMO HP® (p < 0.001), indicating a stronger adhesion force. However, Bio-C Sealer and CIMMO HP® cements behaved similarly regarding adhesion strength (p = 0.970). Conclusion: Under the tested experimental conditions, CIMMO HP® cement exhibited adhesion strength equivalent to Bio-C Sealer and inferior when compared to Sealer Plus BC. Therefore, further studies analyzing the adhesion strength of CIMMO HP® cement are suggested.
