WHO ARE THE BABIES? OUTLOOK AND POSSIBILITIES FOR BUILDING A CONCEPT

This text aims to present the research that sought to understand the baby as a social category, from a conceptual perspective, through the analysis of its condition of subject and person, having as theoretical and methodological framework some principles of Lacan, Winnicott, Pikler, Arendt, Foucault and Lloret. The first section presents the baby from his subjectification process; in the second section, the baby is understood through the theoretical-conceptual tripod: desire, freedom and autonomy; The third section examines the boundary between ages and the fourth brings some conclusions in search for a concept about the baby, which indicates that the baby is not a becoming, a nonbeing, or a being not yet: the baby is.
