Objective: Describe the temporal trend in coverage of nutritional status assessment in the Northern Health Macroregion, Minas Gerais, from 2010 to 2019. Method: An ecological time-series study, which used data from the Food and Nutrition Surveillance System (SISVAN) to calculate the coverage of nutritional status assessment and its temporal trend using linear regression. Results: The coverage of the nutritional status assessment showed an increasing trend across all life stages, evolving from 13.4% (2010) to 33.6% (2019), with an average annual variation of 2.6%. The highest percentages of coverage and the best nutritional status indices were found in the age group of zero to four years. In adolescents, adults and the elderly, being overweight/obesity was increased (p<0.001). Conclusion: There was a significant increase in the percentage of coverage in the macroregion. The increase in the prevalence of being overweight/obesity highlights the need to implement Food and Nutrition Surveillance beyond childhood.
