Translation and its impasses in the short story “Notas ao pé da página”, by Moacyr Scliar, under the gaze of Rosemary Arrojo

This article aims to approach the short story “Notas ao pé da página” (1995), by Moacyr Scliar. The referred text will be analyzed in order to establish a connection between literature and the theme of translation and pose reflections on language from different conceptions, which will be related to distinct views of translation. Moreover, an analysis of Scliar’s fiction by Rosemary Arrojo, whose work is linked to the field of Translation Studies, will be presented. The theoretical foundation includes the thoughts of Mounin (1975), Frota (2000) and Arrojo (2004).
