From Latin to Portuguese: a diachronic study about vowels
Keywords:
Historical Linguistic, Diachrony of Portuguese, Latin vowelsAbstract
On this paper, we are supposed to study the Latin origins of the Portuguese Vocalic Phonemes, retrieving, from the Historical Linguistic, a piece of the diachronic process of the Portuguese Language. To guide our research, we will resort to renowned authors from the Linguistic and Phonology, such as Saussure, Jakobson, Halle and Chomsky, as well as to Historic Linguistic Classic ones, for instance, Ismael Coutinho and Rodolfo Ilari.
