ResumoThis essay presents an analysis of the concept of surrounding, under the perspective of imagery language, collected in a sample of Geography didactic books for the 5th grade of elementary school. The studies images are concerned to drawings, picture reproductions and photos. This analysis was constructed on the joint of imagery language and written language, on the images pedagogical adequacy and on the approach to the referent: the surrounding.
