Abstract

This study to characterize the opinions of fathers regarding parenting practices, paternal involvement, and child behavior. It is a qualitative study, in which five men participated in a focus group. The participants were fathers of children who had finished the ACT Parental Training Program. Participants' reflections were based on guiding questions. Their comments were recorded and the content was transcribed and organized into thematic categories using the ATLAS.ti Software, version 8.0. Fathers showed the need to understand the stages of child development, seeking to help their children to develop skills to better manage their emotions, and guiding them to behave appropriately.
