Abstract

This article exposes the poetic results achieved in the art research conducted at the pejí of Mother Isabel, caretaker of inquice, in the town of Juazeiro - BA in 2014. From the data collected in visits and interviews with Mother Isabel regarding the ceramic objects used in the Umbanda rituals, it was possible to establish relations between Art, Nature and Umbanda. The understanding of visual and ritual poetic elements from these objects contributed to the construction of artistic installations, resulting from containment (what can be contained) and overflows (what cannot be contained). The analysis of the use of the sacred Ibá of Umbanda together with the creation processes in visual arts resulted in an individual exhibition called “Enchanted Ceramics: Objects of Containments”.
